Andhera aur Roshani

Dear friends
After a lot of Intezaar I am posting a new poem.  A number of people have asked me to post something new. As I was away on an official tour I could not do so earlier.  However i am looking forward to your comments on the poem and its presentation. The pic associated with the poem was taken with a Canon DSLR camera.  Enjoy the poem but please do leave your comments.

  5. It would be better if there were nothing. Since there is more pain than pleasure on earth, every satisfaction is only transitory, creating new desires and new distresses, and the agony of the devoured animal is always far greater than the pleasure of the devourer...Pleasure is never as pleasant as we expected it to be and pain is always more painful. The pain in the world always outweighs the pleasure. If you don't believe it, compare the respective feelings of two animals, one of which is eating the other... life is not only meaningless but more than meaningless.
    with regards

    1. Dear Prince
You are right satisfaction is transitory and pain outweighs pleasure. However, the importance of pleasure is only when you are through the pain. Life's purpose is to remain happy and humans are suppose to live life through with hope whatever challenges may come.
Regarding devouring of animals, the mother nature has a made us like that, "Jeevaay Jeevasya Bhojanam" The devourer needs to survive and this is his or her only means. The laws of nature determine this to keep a balance of nature. It does involve Suffering which is indeed a part and parcel of life.
applied to human beings, the one who is being cruel or is getting sadistic pleasure out of other's sufferings is a very pitiable and sick person who need to be sympathised with because he cannot even enjoy the basic small gifts that life offers in the form of sense of achievement , hope, brotherhood etc.

  6. World is filled with miseries and pain and if someone escapes these then boredom awaits for him.
its evil that generally rules and folly that makes noise in world, fate is cruel and mankind pitiable. It would have been much better had there been no life

Again u r right, the grief the challenges make the life spicier.
However, if you would look closely, generally what we admire as human beings is the of triumph of Truth over lies, victory of good over evil, prevalence of Dharma over Adharma, pick up any epics or scriptures or holy books it is writ with this fact.
We must keep our hope alive that is the basis of survival through any challenges of life.
Keep on writing it is wonderful to interact with you.

  7. religion, traditions, holy books are nothing but the stories of patriarchy, misogyny and domination of upper caste and class.
for example Ramayana, story of male chauvinism, rama was a bad husband.
mahabharta, a woman was devoured by 5men just because their mother had said divide what u have begged today later his husband used his wife as a commodity in gamble.. in lakshagraha, 5 tribals were sacrificed just to save 5kshtriya pandavas..
manusmirity, vedas, puranas, samhitas, quran, bible and the list is endless, lies have been compiled in books which are trusted by human mammals today...

  8. Hi Prince
Yes these certainly are examples of exploitation of the weak by the mighty and the list is not exhaustive and it proves another thing that the human spirit is indomitable. We cant look on just the one side of the coin for every negative event in our life there is bound to be a positive side too. We need to find it and use it, every experience teaches us something. It is the faith of the human beings that makes them achieve something (may be even move mountains), it is the faith that keeps the hope alive and helps come out of weird and tough situations. if you look at the characters you are citing above they also were tough people who dared tough times. Our reaction to any situation or experience in life makes all the difference dear.
    thanks for sharing you thoughts
